Our Story
Rooted in tradition and elevated with seasonal inspiration, Butter & Bloom produces our offerings in a shared commercial kitchen in downtown Pittsburgh and then brings those handcrafted comforts straight to your doorstep in Pittsburgh and surrounding suburbs. Each week, we offer a sourdough loaf (once a month we offer a seasonal bread such as zucchini or pumpkin) with a perfect crust and soft, chewy, interior paired with gourmet compound butters and small-batch seasonal jams and preserves — all made with care and intention. We operate kind of like a CSA, but without the commitment. No subscription requirement (though it is an option!)— just simple weekly pre-orders. Whether you're craving cozy staples or seasonal flavors, Butter & Bloom is here to help you slow down, savor more, and reconnect with the joy of beautifully made food.

Rustic, wholesome sourdough bread
Our bread is baked in small batches for a perfect crust, airy crumb, and deep, complex flavor you can only get from time and love. We offer a ten grain sourdough loaf each week, and once a month we offer a special seasonal bread such as an olive loaf, zucchini bread, pumpkin bread, cinnamon raisin bread, or a cheddar- jalapeño loaf. We deliver on the same day we bake, ensuring your bread arrives perfectly fresh!
Compound butters
Delightful, unique, versatile
Our compound butters are whipped fresh each week in small batches, blending premium Vermont Creamery cultured butter with bold herbs, fragrant florals, warm spices, and seasonal ingredients.
From savory blends like garlic & herb, to delicate flavors like lavender, lemon & honey, to cozy combos like maple walnut, our offerings change weekly to reflect the season.
Each butter is crafted to elevate everyday meals — spread it on toast, melt it over roasted veggies or proteins, so many possibilities.
Jams and Preserves
Seasonal and Flavorful
Our jams and preserves are made the old-fashioned way — cooked in small batches using peak-season fruits, herbs, and just the right amount of sweetness to let each ingredient shine. Each week brings a new flavor to your table, from classic favorites to creative seasonal pairings you won’t find on store shelves. Think strawberry basil, peach ginger, or blackberry vanilla bean — perfect for spreading on sourdough, spooning over yogurt, and much more. We do not can our jams, so remember to keep them refrigerated upon delivery alongside your butters.
How it works
Here's how it works:
Each week, an email newsletter will go out to customers who have signed up with us with details about the following week's box, including which compound butter and jam flavors are featured in addition to our bread. Weekly recipes are also included for our versatile butters and jams! Pre-orders must be placed by Sunday at 8pm for the following Thursday's delivery. You can chose to order by the week or better yet start a weekly subscription. Our boxes always contain same-morning fresh baked bread, two of our artisanal compound butters (one savory and one sweet), and one seasonal jam or preserve.
